R/C Fun-Fly Events
Flight Safety is the most important part of these events!
The following rules apply to all events:
Any aircraft that flies over the flight line is disqualified and must land immediately.
Any aircraft that lacks enough control to keep flying safely must immediately land
Only the CD can give permission to retrieve aircraft from the flying area during race and combat events.
The following R/C fun-fly events will be offered:
Blue Ray Pylon Racing
Streamer Combat ("Blue Ray" racers & Open Class)
Bomb Drop (Open Class) - try to drop a ping-pong ball into the bucket - we provide the equipment, you provide the airplane. We flew this event last year with typical foamy & 3D aircraft and it worked great.
Last Man Flying Combat (Open Class)
Let us know if there are any other events you'd like to participate in!

The same airplane may be raced in both the 2-cell and 3-cell class.
Blue Ray Pylon Race
(This is a fun-fly event, not an AMA sanctioned pylon race event.)
Blue Ray Pylon Race Rules:
Air Pylons will be 150 feet apart.
The CD will divide the number of entrants into groups not to exceed six planes per heat.
Pilots names will be called before each heat to give the pilot time to ready his aircraft.
Races will start with a hand toss from behind the start/finish line. The pilot or a helper may launch the airplane. All planes in a heat must be in the air before the heat leader completes two laps.
Any plane that in the opinion of the CD "false starts" will receive a one-lap penalty.
Any aircraft that cuts inside a pylon must fly outside the pylon before continuing the race.
Helpers calling turns for a pilot must stand next to the pilot. Turn Callers are not allowed at the pylons.
Contact with a pylon is acceptable as long as the aircraft flies around the outside of the pylon.
Laps must be called out by the pilot or the pilot's helper as the aircraft crosses over the start/finish line.
Aircraft may be repaired between heats. Backup aircraft substitutions between heats are allowed.
Aircraft battery charging or replacement between heats is allowed.
Heat Races: Heats shall be 10 full laps with points awarded based upon finish order. If in the opinion of the CD, two planes are too close to call, they will be awarded the same points.
Determining the race winner: The pilot with the highest number of points shall be the winner.
Heat race points:
1st Place = 10 points
2nd Place = 8 points
3rd Place = 6 points
All aircraft completing 10 laps = 4 points
If a points tie exists after all heats have been run, the tie breaker will be a final ten lap race with the first to finish declared the contest winner.

Streamer Combat
Airplane Classes:
Blue Ray class
Open class - fly whatever you've got
Streamer Combat Rules:
Twenty feet of streamer material will be provided to each competing pilot.
Each round will have duration of five minutes.
Any airplane that makes a cut and is forced to land because the streamer wrapped up in his prop, can be re-launched as long as the CD give permission for it to be retrieved from the field.
Scoring is based on aircraft flying and the length of streamer remaining at the end of the round.
Aircraft may be repaired between rounds. Backup aircraft substitutions between rounds are allowed.
Aircraft battery charging or replacement between rounds is allowed.
Bomb Drop
Airplane Classes:
Anything Goes - If it flies and can carry the weight of a ping-pong ball, it's OK.
Bomb Drop Rules:
We will put a 5 gallon bucket about 30 feet out from the flight line.
Load up at the flight line and try to drop the "bomb" into the bucket.
If you miss, fly back to the flight line, reload and try again.
First pilot to get a bomb in the bucket wins.
Pilot Tip #1: Hovering low over the bucket seems to work the best.
Pilot Tip #2: Hovering high over the bucket and bouncing the ping-pong ball into the bucket also works, and you get three or four chances for the bomb to go into the bucket.
Last Man Flying
Last Man Flying Combat Rules:
Rules? What rules? This event doesn't have any rules!
Last Man Flying Combat event will be held during the last hour each day.
